ZTFA: Bars of F.U.C.K. history.

The origin's of 1st United Connecticut Kickers, as told through the bars that influenced it's birth.

Vegas Blvd, 233 Sisson Ave, Hartford, CT (860) 232-3749
You could say that Vegas Blvd is the bar that started it all. VB, not to be confused with VD was the first sponsor bar for WAKA kickball in Hartford. It was here, at the pre-season party, where "Awkward" Zak met Carey "Zamboni" Desmarais, and informed her that her team was going down. It was her teams only loss of the regular season. She got the last laugh when her team qualified for WAKA's annual founder's cup to be held in Boston and his choked in the division tournament.

An Tua Nua, 835 Beacon Street, Boston, MA (617) 262-2121
It was the Fall of 2007 when Zak and Carey would theoretically meet future teammate Andy "Biased Media" Festa. It was the pre party for the Founder's Cup and with the limited flip cup space and bar staff quickly putting a halt to it, Carey and Festa had to have faced off at one point in the evening. At the same time Zak was making sure teams scheduled to face teams from Hartford had plenty of beer, it's hard to imagine Andy was at no point at the table when Zak showed up with pitcher's in hand for Balls of Glory. It's not known if it was a factor BoG's performance the day after.

Sidewalk Cafe, 236 South Street, Hartford, CT (860) 956-8192
2008 brought a new home for WAKA in Harford. With the division growing from 9 to 22 teams, they needed a place with more than one bathroom and a capacity in the triple digits. Carey was playing with Kevin "El Capitan" Seabury in the newly created CT-Thunder division, and together with Zak, the 3 began working together on the division board. This working relationship laid the foundation that would be the team's leadership.

Superdive, 200 Avenue A, New York, NY (646) 448-4854
Summer of 2009 brought the New York City Grand National Tournament. Kevin brought together F.U.C.K.'s first manifestation, Balls and Dolls to the first open tournament. At the pre-party at Supderdive Zak and Carey met future teammate Chris "Pittsburgher" Holland which would set up future partnerships. Carey slept on the floor of his hotel room that night, and the team he was playing on Menace 2 Sobriety monkey stomped B&D twice on their way to 2nd place.

O'Shea's, 3555 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas, NV (702) 697-2711
Founder's Cup 2009 once again had Zak, Kevin, and Carey in the same place, Las Vegas. After standing around drinking the beer Zak had won from a bet, negotiations were held to land a man known only as Tweasy on the F.U.C.K. roster.

Margarita's, 350 Roberts St, East Hartford, CT, 860-289-7212
Friday February 5th may well have been the most important night in F.U.C.K. history. It was at this night sitting in the bar section of a chain mexican resturant that the "Chicken Cheer" was born.

Dicey Riley's, 217 Southwest 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL (954) 522-1908
America's Backyard, 200 East Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL (954) 727-0950
1st United Connecticut Kickers will be making their tournament debut at the 2010 South Florida Kickball Open where Dicey's will be hosting the pre-party and ABY will be hosting the post-party. History will be made when these F.U.C.K.ers are unleashed on the world.

  1. It wasn't the beer that did in BOG back in 2007. It was the SoCo and lime shots were were doing while the other teams were leaving for their curfew.
